Introduction to Rhoades to Reading
By Edward Peltz

Former Superintendent of Schools
Mountain View School District
Ontario, California

Honored by the City of Ontario for
Distinguished Service and Guidance to Students

I feel honored to be asked to write the introduction to Rhoades to Reading Standards Based Edition by Jacqueline Rhoades, MS Ed and Director of The Reading Company.

Rhoades to Reading Standards Based Edition is now in its fourth successful year. The program encompasses grades kindergarten through eighth grade, and based on the results of this reading program, the students average twenty three months growth in just fourteen hours.

I have worked with this program and can attest to these remarkable results. More importantly, the students enjoy the program and are especially encouraged by their progress. This makes for a wonderful bond between student and teacher.

The creative force behind this outstanding program is Jacqueline Rhoades. With more than thirty-five yers in the public and private school sectors, she understands how to motivate the student and make him or her want to be successful in reading endeavors. The program is well thought out, has challenging and attainable lessons, and becomes an enjoyable experience for the student.

I believe the Rhoades to Reading Standards Based Edition will be adopted in its entirity by a state agency or school district within the next few years. I have not seen any reading program that is as successful as Rhoades to Reading Standards Based Edition and capable of accomplishing such results in such a brief period of time.
